Investors in People
Investors in People is the UK National Standard of good management practice and should be viewed as a business improvement tool. The Standard is stretching but will establish sound and applicable good management practices in any employing organisation, large or small and in any employment sector.
Investors in People UK, a private sector body responsible for the ongoing quality and development of the Standard, has set up a web based tool called IIP Interactive. This enables the organisations management team to carry out a free initial diagnosis against five essential management responsibilities – Strategic Planning; Effective Management: Culture and Communication; Developing People and Managing Performance. It is also very useful at the outset to gather together your staff views on where they see you are against the requirements of the Standard by using our own free online Staff Survey. After this diagnosis has been completed, our highly experienced People Development Adviser, Chris Butcher, can help you to address any areas identified for development through the production of an action plan, which is then addressed through either directly running workshops for you, or by signposting to other chargeable offerings run by our Associates or Quality South East. He will assist you in making a formal commitment to achieve the National Standard, in submitting your application for formal assessment when you are ready and staying in regular contact with you once you are recognised.
